HEALTH AND SPIRITUAL REASONS SEX SHOULD WAIT TILL MARRIAGE: PART 1

INTRODUCTION

Sex is sweet (do I have a witness?) and sacred. It could be very enjoyable and satisfying yet at the same time, there seem to be some mysteries about it, because in another light, sex could be a worst decision of a life time. It involves the whole being of those involved, their spirits, soul and body. It should therefore be done in security. 

Generally speaking, patience is a virtue; it is a fruit of the Spirit . Ability to wait on God for proper time for things and grace to understand that there’s time for everything are not ordinary. Patience is one thing to pray for when preparing for marriage or else you are going to set a wrong foundation for your marriage and many things might go wrong. Patience is also important when it comes to choosing the right time for sex. Patience, Patience, let me say it again, patience. There is an appropriate time for every thing under the sun and God makes everything beautiful in its time. Please who will not want to have a beautiful sex? 

On a lighter mood, before I start making you frown and serious...lol.

I am not writing this to scare you or condemn you, I am writing to remind you of some important things about premarital sex or probably empower you in the war against this act by passing down some knowledge to you. Knowledge they say is power and its right application is wisdom so I  believe you will make use of this power in the right way. God bless you!

Let’s understand some key words in our topic;

 Health:According to world health organization, health is a state of complete, physical and social well-being and not merely the absence of diseases or infirmities.

Spiritual: This is a word used for things pertaining to the spirit man or things having to do with religion or religious practices. In a nut shell, it is about the spirit man, that is, one of the components of man, others including the soul and body.  These three are inseparable such that when one is down, it may affect the other two.

 Sex: This means the act of intercourse in any form. Biblical acceptable sex is between a man and a woman. Nowadays, lots of perversions are also referred to as sex such as man and man; woman and woman etc, but for the purpose of this write up, I will be looking at the word ‘sex’ as the act between one man and one woman and any other acts and styles that may come to mind.

Let us have some statistics about influence of premarital sex on how lasting a marriage could be;

The divorce rate is around 50% for all couples, but only 9% if both partners are virgins before getting married. If you wait to have sex until you're married, your chances of getting divorced decrease by 70%!

Couples who lived together before getting married are 250% more likely to divorce in the first five years of marriage than those who didn't cohabit

90% of people who live together first, don't get married. 80% of those who do get married afterwards, get divorced. That is about an overall 2% success rate for a healthy marriage if you live together first!

What then are we saying, we can all see the statistics derived from researches. From the figures, we can see that timing of the sex seem to determine a lot, whether in or outside marriage. 

You may not be convinced yet with these few points, this is just an introduction to the topic. we shall meet in the next post soon to talk about those reasons this enjoyable, pleasurable and passion filled activity should wait till marriage.
