Menstrual Hygiene part 2. Keeping it Clean
Hello readers, How's your day going? Trust you are cool there because I am.
Yesterday we looked into menstrual hygiene part 1, more into what you should do before your menses come. If you haven't gone through it, kindly do so by clicking the menu tab.
Today I am going to look at the 'keeping it clean' aspect of menstrual hygiene.
First, I know of a lady who ended up having some infections from lack of proper menstrual hygiene. Infections affecting the urinary tract for example is not uncommon in this case. Let's look at the highlights of cleanliness during menstruation.
1. Use sanitary towels/pads not clothes. This is 21st century......lol
2. Change sanitary towels at least twice per day.
3. Have regular bathe or at least a good wash preferably after a change of pad.
4. While putting on your pad, do not allow your fingers or any part of your body to touch the inner part that will coming in contact with your vagina opening.
5. Use perfumes or deodorant... I mean You should smell nice.
6. Carry extra sanitary towel in your purse when going out.
7. Dispose used pads neatly in a waste basket. I suggest you wrap in a small nylon.
8. Wear cotton pants instead of nylon. Nylon pant conserves heat which can encourage proliferation of microorganisms.
9. Iron all your pants at the end of your flow or better still sun dry after wash.
10. If you notice anything strange in your body or about your flow, visit your doctor.
Wao! That will be all for today. You know you just have to keep it clean.
See you next time on menstrual hygiene part 3 where I will talk to you about managing your painful flow.
Thanks for reading. I love you and am always here for you expecting your comments, experiences and of course questions.
